Warm Water Prawns

Warm Water Prawns

Our wide range of warm water prawns is of the highest quality and ethically sourced from Asia and South America with complete supply chain traceability. They’re renowned and appreciated for their versatility, and ability to absorb the delicious flavours and spices they’re cooked with. They’re particularly well suited to dishes with flavours such as garlic and chilli and work very well in stir-fries and curries. Our warm water range includes king prawns, black tiger prawns, Argentinian wild red shell on or shell off, cooked or uncooked and much more. We recommend defrosting thoroughly for the best results; however, you can cook these products straight from frozen by either pan frying, shallow fry, or grilling.

Raw Whole

Arriving with you as fresh as they were caught, our Whole Raw Prawns are frozen immediately after the catch to retain their wonderfully sweet flavour. To serve these Prawns at their best, we encourage you to cook in the shell to lock in their juiciness. Our entire range of Raw Whole Prawns is perfect for charring on a grill or pan-fried in a garlic and chilli marinade.

These impressive prawns speak for themselves and only need to be served with crusty bread to mop up the juices. Our remarkable range varies from Ecuadorian white shrimp and super giant king prawns to impressive carabineros.

We only source from higher welfare shrimp farms in Thailand, Vietnam and India. The farming process for these prawns is a slow and natural cycle and takes around six months. Once harvested, they are graded and cleaned before being hand-packed and quickly frozen to retain freshness.

Raw Peeled and Deveined

We offer an extensive range of raw peeled and deveined prawns, from king prawns to Argentinian wild red shrimp. Our raw peeled and deveined prawns are washed, peeled and deveined before being either block frozen or individually quick frozen (IQF). Our block frozen products can offer better protection to products and preserve their freshness for a longer period of time, but IQF products have the advantage of being able to cook quickly from frozen and use in smaller quantities to reduce waste.

Peeled and deveined prawns come with a protective glaze. The glaze is a protective layer of frozen water that helps preserve the prawns’ freshness and protects them from quality deterioration during storage. The glaze is necessary as it minimises the risk of freezer burn and extends the product’s durability. The glaze is added by spraying tap water at our Liverpool-based processing facility. It is a 100% natural and sustainable way to protect the product as best as possible before defrosting. This guarantees you a top-quality product every time.

 Cooked, Peeled and Deveined

Our cooked peeled and deveined could not be easier. Throw in a pan or a sauce and gently heat through; however, these taste great cold in a salad, too; simply defrost thoroughly before serving.

Wild Red Shrimp

Argentinian red prawns, prized for their lobster-like flavour and texture, are relatively new to the UK food scene. Wild-caught in the icy waters around Argentina and Patagonia, our red shrimp are quickly frozen after peeling to retain their superb quality. Their sweet flavour and meaty texture give them a similar eating quality to lobster so that they would suit a rich and creamy dish. We stock a whole range from whole to peeled and deveined; find out more below.

Still, they are quickly growing in popularity as they are said to be sweeter and more flavoursome than the traditional king prawn. All the prep is out of your hands, as we offer our Argentinian prawns peeled and deveined, so no fuss is required. Just defrost and cook in minutes.

We source our whole Argentinian prawns during the offshore season in Argentina; this means the boats venture further from shore. The prawns are landed and graded for quality and size before being placed finger laid in their packaging and frozen on board – it doesn’t come any fresher than this.

Crevettes (Ecuadorian)

Our crevettes are cooked whole in their shell to retain their naturally sweet flavour, which gives the shrimp a vibrant orange colour. Our crevettes are sourced from certified aquaculture regions within large lagoons in Ecuador. These prawns are given lots of room to grow slowly and naturally, resulting in an ultra-premium product.
